In over five years of belly dancing professionally, Serafina has performed at lavish weddings and corporate events in high-end banquet halls, informal backyard birthday parties, fine dining Middle Eastern restaurants, and nightclub-style hookah lounges... As a beginning student at the age of 16, Serafina developed her technique by taking several classes per week with the legendary Serena Wilson, Diamond Salome, Jenna, and other instructors of the Vintage Oriental tradition. Serafina now puts on as many as ten shows per week, and continues to refine her personal style by studying with superstar teachers from around the world, such as Sahra Saeeda, Fahtiem, Randa Kamel, and Saida.
Serafina's elegant and charismatic performances delight audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Her diverse collection of music includes classical and contemporary hits from Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, and India, and her song selections always get the audience dancing and singing along. She is proud to have been featured in the New York Times, Star Ledger, and Home News Tribune, as well as to have performed onstage with Bollywood band Jersey Rhythms and at the NJN Studio and Symphony Space theaters on the Chantal Chamandy Beladi Tour. In addition to her more traditional performances, Serafina has collaborated with space rock trio Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra, and sung lead in two rock bands. She has starred in two music videos and takes on various modeling projects when she is not dancing. Serafina is available for solo and group shows, as well as film, theater, and other creative work.
